Triple Sailfish Treat

Report Date: December 9, 2014

Last week the wind was pretty steady out of the NE at 15 to 25 knots, this made for rough conditions, but if you wanted to catch a sailfish you had a very good chance.

We did 3 trips at the end of last week and all 3 produced sailfish for our customers. Lots of people called me but were nervous about going out when its rough. Most wanted to wait for the wind to calm down, but like I always tell them, when its rough the fish are biting better. So on Friday, a group of guys flying out of town the next day could not wait any longer and decided to come out for a half day. It paid off for Martin, Stephane and Hector - each of whom were rewarded with their first sailfish! We kite fished live goggle eyes between 90' to 110' a little north of Port Everglades inlet off Fort Lauderdale. They also caught some kingfish and a mahi.

All 3 were extremely happy with their decision to fish that day and thanked me. They all said this was something they had never experienced before and will be back for sure! Everybody on board, including myself, had big smiles and we high-fived it all the way back to the dock. What a great half day charter fishing trip!

Good Luck & Tight Lines,

Capt. Mario Cote
